Matthew Joseph Photography: Toronto Professional Portrait, Dog and Pet Photographer.
Welcome to My Blog Supporting Animal Rescue in Honour of Parker the Rescue PugMany followers of my blog and Facebook page have already seen my rescue pug Parker. She is the inspiration for this post and for a fundraiser I am running throughout May and June. I am a big believer and supporter of animal rescue organizations. I have been volunteering and fostering for Pugalug Pug Rescue for several years. I would like to use my photography business to support animal rescue organizations. I'm hoping to raise a significant amount of money for animal rescue organizations in honour of my rescue pug Parker. On May 5th five years ago, my wife and I made one of the best decisions of our lives when we chose to adopt Parker from Pugalug Pug Rescue. Throughout May and June I will be donating $25-$50 (depending on the chosen package) from every pet session to the animal rescue organization of the client's choosing. Please share this blog with everyone you know. I really want to raise as much money as possible. My end goal is to make this an annual event. Below, if you are interested, you can find out more about Parker's story. Parker was surrendered to Toronto Animal Services in late 2006 as a stray. She had a very bad respiratory infection and a terrible case of demodectic mange. In fact, it was unclear if she would survive. Fortunately, her foster dad, James Mclean, did not give up on her. Here is a quick shot taken by James soon after he rescued her:
When we first adopted her, she was scared of everything. It was clear that she had a pretty rough life before being rescued. Today, she is a completely different dog. Here are a few shots of my own that show how far she has come:
As you can see, Parker is barely recognizable today. Parker simply would not be alive and a part of my life without the people who dedicate their time and resources to animal rescue organizations. Thus, for the entire month of May and June I will donate $25 of every pet session fee to any animal rescue organization that the client chooses.
KW Kiwanis One Day EventI was lucky enough to be hired to photograph the Kitchener Waterloo (KW) Kiwanis Club's One Day event on April 21st. The event took place in Snyder Flats, near Bloomingdale, ON. Members of several KW area Kiwanis affiliated clubs came out to clean up around 5 kilometers of trail. Despite the terrible weather, the event was a success, and I managed to get some good shots of the volunteers and area. Here is a shot of the group of volunteers:
Here are a few panoramas that show how beautiful Synder Flats is:
Here are a few standard shots of Synder Flats:
And here are a couple of shots of the local wildlife:
I managed to get a few shots of the volunteers hard at work, too:
Here is a portion of the garbage that was hauled out:
Game Judgement: VitaThe team over at www.gamejudgment.com got its hands on a PS Vita to write a review. They were looking for some pictures that showed off the device. Unfortunately, it was a "review" copy, so it wasn't exactly in brand new condition. I don't think I have ever spent so much time using the clone and heal tools in Photoshop to fix scratches! Remember that if you're looking for product shots for your website or advertising, we offer high quality work at affordable prices. Here are some highlights:
Easter Behind the ScenesI've had a few inquiries about my "studio" style shoots. A few people were wondering exactly what is involved with these shoots. I took some "behind the scenes" photos to show the equipment and set-up involved in my studio shoots. This lighting diagram shows the basics of the my Easter set. This set uses three of my four studio strobes. One light is behind and to the side of the dogs. This light makes fur shine and emphasizes pug wrinkles.
Easter PugsI did a little Easter photo shoot with my pugs. You can see the results below. I have had a few inquiries about what is involved in one of my studio shoots. Watch for a behind the scenes blog on Saturday that will show how I shot these Easter photos.
Action Shots in the Dog Park!A few people asked my if action photos are part of my pet sessions. The answer is YES! Action photos are the most fun part of every session with Matthew Joseph Photography. I took my foster pug out to the dog park so everyone can see how much fun the action photos can be.
Gamejudgment
I was asked by the team over at www.gamejudgment.com for some photos of video game systems. They were tired of using boring stock photos. Here are a couple of samples:
Free Facebook Nature & Dog Cover PhotosI created a bunch of Facebook timeline cover photos. They are free for your own personal use. You can find them at www.matthewjosephphotography.ca/facebooktimeline. You can choose the one you want and go through the ordering and downloading process. Family Shoot
I had an interesting family shoot last week. I brought my studio equipment out to Georgetown for this shoot. Here are a couple of the shots:
If you're looking for professional photos in the comfort of your own home, you can contact me at www.matthewjosephphotography.ca/contact.html. Adrian the rescue pug in "studio"I had a few free hours on the weekend, so I set-up the lights and got some "studio" shots of Adrian. As you can see, he was a pretty cooperative dog model. You can seem more in his gallery at www.matthewjosephphotography.ca/adrian. Adrian was rescued by Pugalug Pug Rescue and will be up for adoption at http://pugalug.com/adrian.html in a couple of months.
