Supporting Animal Rescue in Honour of Parker the Rescue Pug

April 25, 2012  •  Leave a Comment

Many followers of my blog and Facebook page have already seen my rescue pug Parker. She is the inspiration for this post and for a fundraiser I am running throughout May and June.  I am a big believer and supporter of animal rescue organizations. I have been volunteering and fostering for Pugalug Pug Rescue for several years. I would like to use my photography business to support animal rescue organizations. I'm hoping to raise a significant amount of money for animal rescue organizations in honour of my rescue pug Parker.  On May 5th five years ago, my wife and I made one of the best decisions of our lives when we chose to adopt Parker from Pugalug Pug Rescue.

Throughout May and June I will be donating $25-$50 (depending on the chosen package) from every pet session to the animal rescue organization of the client's choosing. Please share this blog with everyone you know. I really want to raise as much money as possible. My end goal is to make this an annual event. Below, if you are interested, you can find out more about Parker's story.

Parker was surrendered to Toronto Animal Services in late 2006 as a stray. She had a very bad respiratory infection and a terrible case of demodectic mange. In fact, it was unclear if she would survive. Fortunately, her foster dad, James Mclean, did not give up on her.  Here is a quick shot taken by James soon after he rescued her:

When we first adopted her, she was scared of everything. It was clear that she had a pretty rough life before being rescued. Today, she is a completely different dog. Here are a few shots of my own that show how far she has come:

As you can see, Parker is barely recognizable today. Parker simply would not be alive and a part of my life without the people who dedicate their time and resources to animal rescue organizations. Thus, for the entire month of May and June I will donate $25 of every pet session fee to any animal rescue organization that the client chooses.
